Learning Log 7

This few weeks had been tiring due to the rehaearsals for the romeo and juliet play but all our hardwork paid off when our performance went everything went smoothly during the actual play.I think our performance was up to my expectations as everyone had put in all their effort to ensure that the play goes well.At the end of the play i was thankful that i had not forgotten any of my lines and neither did any of my groupmates.Throughout the process of this play our group had become more bonded and thankfully there was no conflicts within the group.From all the time we spent together we had gotten to know more about each other abd at the same time realize our own strength and weaknesses.I would reccomend this for the sec twos next year as although time consuming, the outcome of the whole process is amazing.Personally i have gained quite a few things from this play.Firstly i had learnt the importance of teamwork.Secondly i had learnt that it is important to work hard to achieve sucess.Lastly i had learnt how to be a gentleman and how to treat a girl right from the time i spent with shadleen to rehearse our part in the play.I would like to thank mrs woo for the tips and pointers she provided us and the time spent to view our rehearsals..I would also like to thank my classmates for giving the support needed throughout the whole thing.In conclusion,i had enjoyed the whole process and i think it has been beneficial to me.

Learning Log 6

The lesson on literary devices was very short thus i do not have much to reflect on.During the lesson we learned a few new devices which are very interesting such as rhetorical quetion,simple sentence and complex sentence.We were than given the homework where we had to find examples of the literary devices.I found this home work fun and beneficial to me.It would have been better if there were mini competitions during the class to test our knowledge on the devices.this would have definitely maslde the lesson much more interesting and fun.

Learning Log 5

After reading the note on unseen prose and poetry i have discovered quite a number of tips which will make it easier to answer the quetions.Firstly i learnt that it is important to understand the passage before attempting to answer the quetions.Secondly i learnt that there are quetions which i should ask myself while reading a poem.I also learned that when answering the quetions there are things to avoid and look out for.Lastly i have also learnt how to Organse my answers and include quotes in my answers.In conclusion this set of note had taught me alot about tackling an unseen poem.

Learning Log 4

The prepartion and performance of macbeth was quite fun and interesting.It was interesting as we get to see the creativity of other groups and at the same time find out our area of weaknesses.Only after knowing our weaknesses can we improve in the area we are weak in.The performance had also bonded the class as we shared the makeup and commented on each other's costume before the performance.After looking at other groups preparation and preparing for my group's performance,i have learned the inportace of cooperating with your group members and having creativity in your performance.I do not have any suggestions as i feel that the time given to prepare qnd the help given by mrs woo was adequate.

Learning Log 3

The Lliterature lesson on ' predictions' was meaningful and fun as all of us had to share our stoties on predictions.The stories shared were very creative and some were real life experiences.The stories shared helped me understand what are predictions and how predictions can be real sometimes.It may be coincidene or just lucky on the person predicting part.Although some predictions are logical most of the prediction are illogical and does not make sence.Overall the lesson was very good and i have no suggestions on how to improve the lesson.

Learning Log 2

The lesson on superstitions and Macbeth was fun and enjoyable. After the lesson on superstition I found out many things that the different races in Singapore and other countries belief in such as breaking a mirror will give you bad luck and if a bird comes into your house somebody in the family will die. These superstitions help me understand different cultures and why they refrain from doing certain things. The lesson on Macbeth was also linked to the lesson on superstition as the play, Macbeth, featured three witches and witchcraft is very much linked to superstition. The part of the lesson where selected groups had to try acting out to the first scene in Macbeth was very funny and helped me understand how the witches should sound like.

Learning Log 1

I have learnt many things from the cinquan lesson such as the format of writting a cinquan poem,the correct way to pronounce the word 'cinquan' and the things that i have to take note when writing a cinquan poem.The lesson was fun and interesting as mrs Woo used one of my classmate's name to write a cinquan poem and it was my first time hearing about cinquan poem.The lesson would have been better if we had been provided with more examples of the cinquan poem.The notes that mrs woo gave out during the lesson was very usefuland the example of a cinquan poem that was printed on the notes helped me alot in writing my own cinquan poem.
